Hello and thank you for visiting Black Canyon Foods on-line!  Many of you are familiar with us because your friends or neighbors have recommended us to you (thanks!).
 
For those of you who are not familiar with us here's a quick description. We are keen on supporting Colorado producers and seek them out to join us. We function much like a CSA, a cooperative and a small, home-town natural grocer all rolled into one. We raise or make some of the products ourselves, we work with other small Colorado producers and for your convenience, we also carry some national brands that we really like, plus we offer a discount program for bulk items and vitamins & supplements! We think we bring together all the best aspects of a CSA, a cooperative and a small, home-town natural grocer and we hope you agree. You can set up a standing order that we bring to you every week or you can order as needed. We have a great selection of natural and organic items and we deliver right to your door!

We are pleased to bring you a healthy selection of items such as natural milk from Bellvue, cheese from Olathe; eggs from our backyard; dips/spreads from Pagosa Springs; yogurt from Bellvue; mushrooms from Ft Collins, bread & bagels from Grand Junction; many meats from Colorado include chicken, lamb, beef; and a large selection of many other items.
 
We are committed to Bringing Local Together!, but realize that not all items are available from Colorado. So, we do the next best thing...we buy as close to home as possible and the best products we can. It's important to us to offer quality & value as well as a great selection. Whenever possible we offer organic, but sometimes a great Colorado product is natural. If so, we carry it!

MARK - Cares for our animals. Manages the warehouse. All around good guy! :)

MICHAEL - Michael is not only a Colorado native, but a Montrose native. He and wife Debbie love to fish, travel and work in their garden and yard. Living on a 10acre farm outside Montrose makes the perfect place to garden! They are excited to put their organic gardening skills to use for you - as soon as harvesting begins we'll start selling their locally and lovingly grown produce! Michael and Debbie's constant companions are their four mini dachshunds Casandra, bubbles, Peanut and newest addition Peanut Junior.

MATTHEW - Matthew lives on his Grandmother's beautiful, remote ranch near Hotchkiss and loves it. More info to come!

WHY DO WE DO THIS?

Several years ago we started looking for healthier alternatives to feed our newborn daughter, Kathryn. Somehow eight years have passed since then and now we have two daughters! During the middle of this pursuit we moved to Olathe and found that our pursuit posed new challenges. There weren't many options for natural/organic/local foods and we had to drive all over to get what we wanted.

As we were struggling through this process we thought that there must be others facing the same dilemma. So, we put our thinking caps on and started Black Canyon Foods. Since then we have evolved to really focus on local products because we firmly believe in supporting local producers from all over Colorado. On our website, you'll find the largest selection of local products all in one place; and you'll have the priviledge of supporting MANY Colorado producers that you may not otherwise have access to. We are so grateful to our producers and customers and appreciate serving you!
